Saturday night or Sunday morning: from arts to industry, new forms of cultural policy
1986, Comedia, written with Ken Worpole
This book looks at the history and future of cultural policy, covering its role in politics, and the potential to move away from an exclusive focus on pre-20th century art forms to engage with contemporary forms, and away the use of grants as the only tool for support to also use investment methods. The book drew on the authors experience working at the Greater London Council and Greater London Enteprise Board where they had pioneered these policies - many of which have subsequently become mainstream.
